Airframe
Thanks to the versatility of its mechanical workshop and new investments in the field of composite materials, OMI is able to meet the demand for products for both military and civil aircraft, in terms of material technology (aluminium alloys, titanium, steel, composite materials), and of dimensions, being able to produce components up to 14 metres long.
OMI annually produces more than 80,000 parts along with assemblies for fuselages, wings and movable surfaces, controlling the management of all phases of the production cycle from the preliminary design through product manufacturing and on to customer support.
Defense
OMI is specialised in the manufacturing of equipment to support the production of missiles, particularly in the design and construction of systems for functional testing, such as RF simulators, anechoic chambers and automated handling equipment.
Tooling
OMI’s thirty years of experience, combined with the constantly updated training of personnel and a propensity for technological experimentation, gives customers the security of being fully supported during all the phases of product development. Experience, a state-of-the-art machine park and the availability of inspection and testing equipment, are the instruments through which OMI supports the industrialization of the customer products by creating the necessary hardware and software; starting with product and process specification.
Construction drawings of the assembly Jig, forming tools, curing and milling are produced, as well as the documentation and CNC programs necessary to support the production.
Dimensional inspection and functional testing are performed using digital instruments and procedures ensuring the accuracy and repeatability of the production lots, as well as in the production of the recurrent parts. Even in the production of equipment, OMI is specialized in the development of major tools and complex and large tools.
